A Carnivore Did It! is a fun deductive board game that puts players in the role of detectives solving unusual cases involving animal suspects.
The game is set in a slightly humorous world where crimes are committed by anthropomorphic animals (such as a panther, dog, shark, or iguana). In each case, you investigate a mysterious crime—the title suggests that a “carnivore” is guilty, but the truth is not always that simple. The game focuses on logically untangling the contradictory statements of the suspects. It feels like solving a detective puzzle, where you must determine from a set of claims who is telling the truth and who is lying.
It is a cooperative deduction puzzle game that relies almost entirely on logic.
You choose one of many cases (around 2000 in total), each with a specific difficulty level. Each suspect is assigned a statement (e.g. “The shark is telling the truth” or “A carnivore did it”). Players analyze who is telling the truth and who is lying, and from that deduce the only possible solution. Each case has exactly one correct answer, giving it the feel of a pure logic puzzle.
Over time, the number of suspects (up to 7), the complexity of statements, and the number of culprits increase. You can play solo or as a group, working together to think through and solve the puzzle.
A Carnivore Did It! is a clever and highly addictive logic game that transforms a simple idea into a deep detective challenge, where every solution feels like a satisfying little “aha!” moment 🦊
