Air Mail is a board game that transports players into the early days of commercial aviation in the United States. It is set in 1925, the year the so‑called Kelly Act was passed — a law that allowed private companies to participate in establishing the first commercial airmail service.
In Air Mail, players become aviation magnates competing for lucrative contracts with the U.S. Postal Service. Their task is to establish efficient air routes, upgrade technology, and meet government requirements in order to make their company the leading force in the airmail industry.
It is a strategic game featuring elements of route building, resource management, and objective fulfillment.
Players transport mail between different regions. The greater the distance, the higher the profit — though profit is limited by the current level of technology, which can be upgraded during the game. To expand their network, players use concession cards that allow them to connect different regions. Throughout the game, shared objectives known as postal decrees are activated; all players can complete them for additional points. At the end of the game, players also receive extra points for successfully completed express deliveries.
The game is designed for 2 to 5 players, ages 10 and up, with an average playtime of 30 to 75 minutes.
If you enjoy strategic games with a historical theme and resource‑management elements, Air Mail is an excellent choice. 📮
