Amun-Re: The Card Game is designed for 2 to 5 players and lasts about 45 minutes. The game is played over three eras (Kingdoms), during which players acquire and develop three provinces. Each era is divided into four phases:
- Auction: Players bid for provinces, each choosing one gold card to place a bid on a specific province.
- Offerings and bonuses: Players simultaneously make offerings to Amun-Re to influence the level of the Nile flood, which affects future income.
