Archeos Society is a board game where players take on the roles of archaeologists competing to uncover legendary sites around the world. The theme revolves around planning and leading research expeditions to acquire artifacts and advance along various expedition tracks.
The game combines hand management, set collection, and open drafting. On their turn, a player can either draw a card from the deck or the open display, or launch an expedition by playing cards of the same color or the same role. During an expedition, the player selects a leader who determines the region and provides a special ability—such as drawing extra cards, retaining certain cards, or gaining a scoring bonus. All unused cards move to the central market, where other players can take advantage of them. Progress is tracked by moving tokens along six different paths, with each region requiring a different expedition size (1–4 cards) and awarding points at the end of the round.
Archeos Society offers an excellent balance between easy entry-level gameplay and deep strategy, appealing to both families and experienced gamers.
