The core mechanism in Big Top is clever and tense bidding. When a player wins an auction, all the payment goes to the auctioneer, not the bank — which means you’re always strengthening someone else. Each purchased attraction contains specific numbers that must be used as bids in future auctions if you want to score points.
If you manage to “cover” them, the attraction scores points and often grants special abilities.
Bids are worthwhile even when you don’t win the auction, because using the right number still lets you progress on your previously purchased cards. Success depends on carefully observing what others need to complete their attractions — every bid you make influences how the game unfolds.
