Captain Sonar – 2nd Edition is a tense and dynamic team-based game in which two submarine crews face off in a real-time strategic duel beneath the waves. Players must cooperate, communicate, and make quick decisions to locate and destroy the enemy submarine before it destroys theirs.
The game is set in a modern underwater world where each team controls its own high-tech submarine. Tension builds with every move as players take on different crew roles and work together to survive and emerge victorious in underwater combat.
Captain Sonar is a real-time game for 2–8 players in which each team member assumes one of several critical roles:
- Captain: Commands the submarine, decides its movement, and activates systems.
- Radio Operator: Listens to the opposing team's orders and attempts to track the enemy submarine's route.
- Engineer: Maintains the submarine's systems and prevents malfunctions.
- First Officer: Charges weapons, sensors, and stealth systems.
The game features multiple maps and scenarios that add variety and new challenges to each session. Each team has its own board, markers, and screens, creating secrecy and suspense throughout the game.
