Clank!: Catacombs is a strategic board game that combines deck‑building with dungeon exploration. Players take on the role of thieves venturing into the mysterious catacombs of the dragon Umbrok Vessna, seeking valuable artifacts and attempting to escape before the dragon’s wrath consumes them.
Players begin with a basic deck and gradually add new cards that enhance their abilities, such as moving across the map, fighting monsters, and collecting treasures. They maneuver their figures through the map, explore different locations, gather artifacts, and avoid dangers. Every misstep or source of noise attracts the dragon’s attention. Players add cubes to the dragon bag, increasing the risk of attacks. If the dragon’s rage reaches a critical level, a dragon strike can eliminate all players still trapped underground.
