Critters At War: Flies, Lies & Supplies is a strategic head-to-head game in which players take on the roles of supreme commanders of their nations' armed forces, competing for dominance across three theaters of war: intelligence, diplomacy, and economy.
The game is set in a fantastical world where anthropomorphic animals wage wars on multiple fronts. Players use a variety of cards representing their units and strategies to gain control over the theaters and secure victory.
Flies, Lies & Supplies is a reimagined follow-up to the critically acclaimed original Air, Land, & Sea, presented in the thematic Critters At War setting. This box includes everything new players need to get started, and it can also be combined with the original game to unlock new matchups and gameplay modes.
The game unfolds over a series of battles, where players compete across three theaters: intelligence, diplomacy, and economy. To win a battle, a player must control two out of the three theaters after both players have played all their cards.
At the beginning of each battle, both players receive six cards. No additional cards are drawn during the battle, so each player must build their strategy based on that initial hand. Players take turns playing cards either face up (activating their tactical abilities) or face down (as wild cards with basic strength).
At any point, players may choose to withdraw from a battle, which can prevent the opponent from achieving a decisive victory, though it may mean conceding the battle.
After each battle, victory points are awarded based on the outcome, and the first player to reach 12 points wins the war.
