Emberheart takes you to a mysterious island where the last dragons live. For years, they lived peacefully with the locals until raiders from distant lands arrived to capture and plunder them. As one of the king’s champions, you will join forces with villagers, rescue dragons, train them, and fight against ruthless invaders. Everything is wrapped in a rich fantasy story filled with epic heroes, dragons, and tense battles.
Emberheart is a medium-weight worker placement game with elements of bidding and set collection for 2–4 players (playtime: 60–90 minutes). Each round, you decide whether to take an Aide token for a special advantage or send a group of mercenaries to one of the island’s locations. The more you send, the earlier you choose rewards and the harder it is for opponents to outmaneuver you.
Mercenaries include Grunts (single-use), Scouts, Rangers, and Wardens (permanent but limited to certain locations). A dragon companion can join the group and add special bonuses based on its training.
At the locations, you can:
- recruit heroes with unique abilities,
- rescue dragons and place them safely in their sanctuaries,
- launch counterattacks against raiders.
A unique feature of the game is the Flame Track—taking too many risks can cost you dearly at the end of the game. After five rounds, the champion with the most Glory points wins and becomes the new Dragon Ambassador.
