Ethnos: 2nd Edition takes you into a fantasy world where players compete for control over six regions of the divided land of Ethnos. After the fall of the old order, the clans are scattered, and the players’ task is to unite them and use their help to gain dominance over the territories. Each clan has its own unique ability, which gives the game rich thematic variety – from mystical owls that allow extra turns to foxes that provide an advantage in ties.

It’s a combination of set collection and area control.

On your turn, you can:

• Take a card from the market or from the deck.
• Play a set of cards (same clan or same color).

The size of the set determines how many pagodas (control markers) you can place in a region. For the first pagoda, one card is enough, but for the next, the set must be larger than the number of pagodas already placed in that region. The leading card in the set activates the clan’s ability, opening up additional tactical options. There are three dragon cards hidden in the deck; when the third appears, the round ends. The game has three scoring phases and lasts about 60 minutes.
