Everdell combines the mechanics of worker placement and tableau building. Players take turns placing their workers on various locations on the board to gain resources such as wood, resin, stone, and berries. These resources are then used to play cards from their hand or from the shared meadow, allowing them to build their city. Each city can contain up to 15 cards representing different constructions and creatures, each with its own effects and point values. The game progresses through four seasons, with each season unlocking new opportunities and additional workers.
