In Four Gardens, players compete to create the most beautiful panoramic gardens surrounding a magnificent four‑tier pagoda. Each player strives to please the gods by maintaining a balanced mix of natural resources — water, wood, stone, and plants — and thus create stunning landscapes. The game’s visual style is heavily inspired by East Asian aesthetics, giving it a calming yet majestic feel.
Players collect four types of resources, which they obtain by rotating the pagoda tower. Each side of the tower shows a different quantity of resources, meaning players must carefully plan when and how to rotate it. The cards have two sides — one showing foundations and the other a panorama. Players must first build the foundations, then complete the panoramas using the appropriate resources. The pagoda is not just decoration — it is a central game mechanic. Its rotation determines which resources a player can gain, adding tactical depth and unpredictability. Players collect and assemble panoramas, which are scored based on their length and harmony.
