Ganz Schön Clever (in English That’s Pretty Clever) is an exceptionally popular “roll & write” board game designed by acclaimed game designer Wolfgang Warsch. The game was nominated for the Kennerspiel des Jahres award, which highlights its quality and strategic depth.
The gameplay focuses on cleverly combining dice results. Players compete to optimize their moves on personal score sheets, which feature different colored scoring areas.
On their turn, a player rolls six colored dice and selects one to use for marking a specific area on their sheet. All dice with a lower value than the chosen one are set aside and cannot be rolled again. The player then rerolls the remaining dice and selects a second die, and then a third.
Inactive players can use one of the discarded dice, keeping everyone engaged even during other players’ turns. Each color has its own scoring rules—such as adding numbers, linking sequences, filling grids, and more. The game includes chain bonuses that grant extra actions, rerolls, or additional markings. Fox symbols allow players to add the lowest value among their scoring areas to their total at the end of the game, encouraging balanced play.
If you’re looking for a game that combines strategy, luck, and smart decision-making, Ganz Schön Clever is an excellent choice—and far from a one-time play! 🎲🧠📋
