It is a tense solo game in which you take on the role of a police negotiator who communicates with a hostage-taker and tries to rescue the hostages. Each session represents an intense dialogue—each round of the game symbolizes a new phase of negotiations, where you attempt to calm the perpetrator, uncover their demands, and gradually save lives.
In the Ultimate Box, you get the complete collection of content, including more than 16 different hostage-takers and the ability to play through the entire career of a negotiator across multiple scenarios, creating a sense of a long and connected story.
The cards you purchase go directly into your hand for the next round, allowing for better control over your tactics. The success of negotiations is not guaranteed—dice determine whether your approach works, adding tension and uncertainty. If the hostage-taker becomes too aggressive, they can start killing hostages—so you must constantly balance risk and de-escalation.
You use cards to perform actions (e.g., calming, gathering information), and you spend points on better cards in future rounds.
There are multiple paths to victory: you can try to convince the hostage-taker to surrender or tactically work your way toward a dramatic rescue operation. Each opponent has their own rules, demands, and behavior, significantly increasing the game’s variety.
