In King of Tokyo: Origins, you take on the role of giant monsters (mutants, robots, or aliens) fighting for dominance over the city of Tokyo. The core of the game is a battle in the style of classic kaiju movies.
Each player rolls six special dice up to three times to collect combinations – hearts (health), lightning bolts (energy), claws (attack), and numbers (victory points). Deciding whether to reroll adds tension and risk right up to the last move. If you’re in Tokyo, you deal damage to multiple opponents but cannot heal. If you’re outside Tokyo, you can choose to attack, heal, or collect energy cubes. By collecting lightning symbols, you gain energy that can be spent to buy Power cards. These cards grant special abilities – some permanent, others one-time – adding variety and opening new strategic options. There are two paths to victory: either reach 20 points or be the last monster standing.
King of Tokyo: Origins is a fast, exciting game with simple rules, a fantastic theme, and an appealing dose of randomness, making every playthrough fun and fresh.
