Last Aurora is a post-apocalyptic competitive game for 1–4 players, set in a frozen, desolate wasteland after the last war has covered the northern lands in radioactive dust. Players lead convoys of survivors trying to reach the icebreaker Aurora—the last hope for salvation—before they are consumed by the deadly cold.
The world of the game is dark and hopeless, yet driven by a search for redemption. Each player commands a convoy of vehicles and survivors striving to gather resources, upgrade their vehicles, defeat enemies, and make their way to the ship Aurora, which travels along the coast searching for survivors. Those who fail to arrive in time are doomed.
The game takes place over 6 rounds, each divided into 5 phases:
- Exploration Phase: You send survivors to locations where they gather resources, upgrades, weapons, or recruit new survivors with unique abilities.
- Rest Phase: Exhausted survivors can be sent to rest, or immediately refreshed using food.
- Movement Phase: You spend fuel to move your convoy, avoiding contaminated areas and seeking optimal routes.
- Combat Phase: Using ammunition and weapons, you fight off enemies attacking your convoy. Successful defense brings glory and loot.
- Aurora Movement Phase: The ship moves along the coast. If you reach it, you rescue survivors and gain reputation; if not, you face a dangerous journey south.
Each player has a convoy board where they assemble their truck, trailers, devices, and manage survivors between active, exhausted, and resting areas.
