Lost Ruins of Arnak is an adventure board game that combines deck‑building and worker placement, set on a mysterious tropical island filled with lost treasures, ancient artifacts, and dangerous guardians.
Players take on the roles of archaeologists exploring a forgotten island. Throughout the game, they discover new locations, gather resources, defeat guardians, and progress along the research track to uncover the island’s secrets. Everything is infused with a sense of adventure, reminiscent of Indiana Jones or Tomb Raider.
Players start with a basic deck of cards and upgrade it with artifacts and items that grant special abilities. Each player has two archaeologists they send to various locations to gain resources or explore. By using compasses, players can discover new sites that offer rewards but also challenges in the form of guardians. Players can purchase items (with gold) and artifacts (with compasses) to enhance their actions. Advancing on the research track grants points and bonuses but requires careful resource management. Points come from artifacts, defeated guardians, progress on the research track, and discovered locations.
