Lying Pirates is a fast, competitive adventure game with a strong pirate theme. Players take on the roles of pirate captains who race their ships through dangerous waters filled with traps, events, and battles, all striving to be the first to claim the pirate throne.

It is a world steeped in deception, bluffing, luck, and combat, where other pirates are never just companions but dangerous rivals. The game thrives on a wild, action‑packed atmosphere that combines classic pirate motifs with quick decisions and tense duels.

The game is played in three phases each round, forming a simple but highly dynamic system.

Bluffing Phase

Players hide their dice in bamboo cups and bet on how many of a certain result are present on the table.
When someone calls a bluff, all dice are revealed — the player who was wrong loses, while the surviving players advance further along the map.

Sailing Phase

All players except the loser of the previous phase move 1–2 spaces forward on the modular map.
At landing spots, battles begin for event tiles, which can be beneficial or harmful.
Players roll special Battle Dice to earn the right to perform the event.

Action Phase

Pirates have access to special action cards that:

• allow them to attack other players,
• provide defensive options,
• upgrade their crew and ship.
