Menara is a cooperative game in which players work together to build an ancient temple reaching toward the sky. The game’s design is inspired by Southeast Asian temples, and its name comes from the Malay word for “tower.” The goal is to construct a temple that is tall and stable enough to meet the game’s requirements—without letting it collapse!
All players cooperate as a team. They place colorful pillars and floor tiles according to the instructions on the cards. The choice of cards affects the difficulty of the tasks, and the number of floors that must be built adapts to the team's performance.
On each turn, a player:
- Optionally exchanges pillars with the "camp" supply.
- Chooses a construction card (either easier or more challenging).
- Completes the required task (placing or moving pillars and floors).
- Refills their pillar rack.
If a task cannot be completed, the temple must be built one floor higher, increasing the challenge. If the tower collapses, everyone loses. However, if the temple remains standing and reaches the required height, the entire team wins!
