In Onirim, you play as a dreamer trapped in a mysterious labyrinth of dreams. Your goal is to find all 8 doors (two in each of four colors) before the draw deck runs out. The dream world is full of beautiful yet dangerous places, where nightmares lurk and can set you far back.
Onirim is primarily designed as a solo game, but it can also be played cooperatively by two players working together to overcome the game. The player holds 5 cards and alternates between playing or discarding them to create sequences of three cards of the same color (red, blue, green, yellow). This unlocks doors of that color. The cards feature three symbols (sun, moon, key), and you cannot play cards with the same symbol consecutively, which requires careful planning. The deck also contains nightmare cards that force you to sacrifice valuable cards or doors, discard your hand, or even remove multiple cards from the deck. This adds tension and unpredictability to the game. Key cards allow you to peek at upcoming cards or instantly unlock doors if the correct color appears.
