Operation Barclay is a two-player board game that places you in 1943, at the heart of the intelligence war between the Allies and the German Abwehr in the Mediterranean. It is historically based on a real operation that formed part of the broader deception plan preceding the invasion of Sicily (Operation Husky).
- The Allied player (the London Controlling Section – LCS) must build a network of disinformation to draw attention away from the true invasion target.
- The Axis player (the Abwehr) must decipher where the real attack will occur and separate fact from fiction.
Each player manages their own intelligence network, using channel cards, evidence tiles, assessment tokens, and a calendar tracker. Players attempt to mislead or uncover information, making the careful selection of cards crucial for influencing their opponent.
The game demands logical thinking, anticipation, and psychological strategy.
