Peacemakers: Horrors of War is a cooperative strategy game set in the fantasy world of Daimyria, where intelligent animal nations wage brutal wars against one another. Players take on the roles of peace-seeking adventurers whose goal is not to win the war, but to stop the conflicts between opposing factions before they cause irreversible damage.
Rather than commanding armies, players attempt to influence the course of the war, reduce the factions’ willingness to fight, and prevent widespread destruction. The game explores the horrors of war through its theme while delivering a strong message about compassion, courage, and peacekeeping.
Designed for 1–4 players, the game includes 6 standalone scenarios that can be played in any order. Each faction (such as ocelots, parrots, and turtles) has its own objectives, personality, and style of warfare. Armies move and attack autonomously, and players do not control them directly.
Instead, players use multi-purpose resource cards to:
- Travel across the map
- Fortify positions
- Spy on military plans
- Delegate cards to other players
- Trigger special tactical maneuvers (such as Cunning Retreat)
A key mechanic of the game is reducing army motivation. When a faction’s motivation reaches zero, it withdraws from the conflict. However, if one side collapses too quickly, it can trigger chain reactions and additional horrors, represented by Horror Cards.
If you're looking for a game that combines strategic depth, a powerful theme, and cooperative gameplay, Peacemakers: Horrors of War is an excellent choice—a game that doesn't ask how to win, but how to prevent everyone from losing.
