Risk: Godstorm is a mythological version of Risk, set in a world of ancient civilizations and gods. Players lead one of the cultures (Greeks, Egyptians, Celts, Vikings, or Babylonians) and, as high priests, strive to achieve dominance over the world—and even over the Underworld.
A key feature of the game is that gods actively take part:
- players can summon deities (war, magic, sky, death),
- gods grant special powers and influence battles,
- warfare takes place both on Earth and in the Underworld.
A unique element is the legendary Atlantis, which can sink during the game and destroy all units on it, adding dramatic moments.
The game is based on classic Risk mechanics (territory control and dice rolling), but introduces many new systems.
The game lasts 5 rounds (epochs), and the player with the most points at the end wins. Faith is a resource players collect and use for:
- playing cards
- building temples
- influencing turn order
Each player has their own pantheon, which:
- grants bonuses in battles
- enables special effects (e.g., extra dice, rerolls)
Miracle cards provide special events and abilities tied to different types of gods (war, magic, sky, death).
The Underworld:
- defeated units do not disappear, but go to the Underworld
- there they can fight again and even return to Earth
As in Risk, controlling continents provides bonuses, and additional points are earned through relics and Underworld locations.
The game combines classic territory conquest with elements of mythology, resources, and special powers.
Risk: Godstorm is a richly thematic and strategically deep version of Risk that, with the inclusion of gods, faith, and the Underworld, delivers an epic experience of battling for dominance over an ancient world. ⚡
