Players collect cards from four different countries and use them to gain influence over nobles in specific cities. By playing the appropriate cards, you place your noble on an open portrait slot in a city. Higher titles require more cards of the same country. Intrigue cards allow you to displace opponents’ nobles and take over their positions, adding a layer of direct player interaction. The game is played over three periods, each followed by scoring based on influence in the different countries. Additional points are awarded for achievements such as being the first to gain influence in a city or controlling all noble titles.
