Schummel Hummel is the successor to the game Cheating Moth.
Schummel Hummel (known in English as Cheating Moth) is an exceptionally fun and unusual card game that encourages something normally strictly forbidden: cheating!
The game takes place in the world of insects, where players try to get rid of all their cards as quickly as possible. The deck features a variety of insects, including butterflies, bees, spiders, and of course the mischievous Schummel Hummels (“Cheating Bumblebees”). In this world, not everything follows the rules—cheating is not only allowed, it is essential for victory!
The goal is to get rid of every card in your hand. Players take turns playing cards onto a discard pile, with each card needing to match at least one flower color shown on the top card of the pile. If a player cannot play a matching card, they must draw a new one. Special cards trigger various actions, such as skipping turns or exchanging cards.
What makes the game truly unique is that players may secretly “lose” cards—dropping them under the table, hiding them up a sleeve, or discreetly discarding them when nobody is watching. But be careful! One player takes on the role of the Wächter-Wurm (Guard Worm), whose job is to catch cheaters. If you are caught, you must take the card back and receive an additional penalty card.
If you're looking for a game that turns the usual rules upside down and guarantees plenty of laughter, Schummel Hummel is an excellent choice! 🐝✨
