In Shake That City, you take on the role of an urban planner tasked with building the most functional and attractive city block. Your goal is to strategically place buildings—homes, shops, factories, parks, and roads—on your board to create a vibrant urban environment. The theme is light and family-friendly, yet engaging enough to appeal to fans of city planning and spatial puzzles.

The core element of the game is the Cube Shaker, a special device that, when shaken, arranges 9 colored cubes into a 3×3 grid. The active player chooses one color and places the corresponding building tiles on their board in the same pattern as the cubes. Other players select a different color from the same layout.

Types of buildings:

• Roads: Score points if connected to the edge of the board.
• Factories: Prefer to be next to other factories and roads.
• Homes: Score in small clusters but cannot be adjacent to a factory.
• Parks: Earn points when placed near homes and factories.
• Shops: Score more points closer to the center of the city but must have a road connection to the edge.

The game lasts 15 rounds, and at the end, players score based on tile combinations and bonus objectives along the board’s edge.
