Star Realms: Colony Wars is a standalone version of the popular Star Realms game, taking players into a world of space battles where they fight for control of the galaxy. It is a fast-paced, dynamic, and strategic game that combines deck-building, faction synergies, and tactical resource management.
In a distant galaxy, factions are fighting for control of colonies. Players take on the role of commanders of space fleets, building their own armadas of ships and bases to reduce their opponent’s “Authority” (health) to zero. Each card represents a ship, base, or event that influences the course of the battle.
Players start with a basic deck of cards and, during the game, purchase stronger ships and bases from a central trade row. The four factions (Blob, Star Empire, Trade Federation, Machine Cult) each have special abilities that activate when combining cards from the same faction. Players use trade to acquire new cards and combat to attack opponents or destroy their bases. Some cards provide immediate effects, allow purchases directly into the hand, or enable players to remove weaker cards from their deck. The goal of the game is to reduce the opponent’s Authority to 0 and claim victory.
