Star Wars: The Clone Wars is a cooperative board game based on the popular Pandemic system, but fully immersed in the Star Wars universe—specifically the era of the Clone Wars.
Players step into the roles of legendary Jedi Masters such as Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka Tano, and Anakin Skywalker, working together to fight against the Separatist forces led by villains like Darth Maul, General Grievous, Asajj Ventress, and Count Dooku. The objective is to prevent the droid armies from conquering the galaxy while completing missions and ultimately confronting the main villain.
The game is fully cooperative, with players joining forces against a shared enemy. Each player controls a unique Jedi hero with special abilities. Instead of curing diseases (as in the original Pandemic), players remove droid units, complete missions, and battle villains using cards and a twelve-sided die. Each game features multiple missions that must be completed before triggering the final showdown with the chosen villain. These missions require a combination of cards and teamwork, often bringing players together at the same location.
If the threat level—represented by the spread of droids or the invasion track—rises too high, the players lose, creating constant tension and the need for careful strategic planning.
