Tabannusi: Builders of Ur is a strategic Euro-style board game set in ancient Mesopotamia, in the city of Ur — one of the oldest urban centers of human civilization. Players take on the roles of architects competing for prestige and influence as they develop different parts of the city: residential buildings, gardens, canals, and magnificent ziggurats (temples). All of this unfolds across five distinct districts, interconnected by river canals and colorful barges carrying resources.

On their turn, each player selects a die from a barge in their current district. The color of the die determines the type of resource gained, while the value determines which district the player will move to on their next turn.
Players control two figures — an architect and an assistant. The architect dictates where the player will move, while the assistant performs actions in the current district (construction, placing project tiles, gaining resources, etc.). In three of the city’s districts, players can place project tiles and then construct buildings if they have the required resources. In the other two districts (the ziggurat and the port), players can build gardens and water canals that provide special bonuses.

Players have a limited number of markers used to claim ownership of projects, making careful planning essential. Points can be earned through construction, fulfilling special objectives, controlling districts, and contributing to shared projects. Players may choose to cooperate or compete when working on larger constructions, adding strategic depth and tactical decision-making to the gameplay.

This game is designed for fans of heavier Euro games, offering abundant opportunities for planning, optimization, and adapting one's strategy. If you’re looking for a complex, thematic, and tactical game about building an ancient city, Tabannusi: Builders of Ur is an excellent choice! 🏛️
