The game takes you into the very heart of Tolkien’s The Two Towers. It is a narrative‑driven, cooperative card game in which players take on the roles of heroes (and occasionally villains) from the story and, through its chapters, relive key moments — from searching for Merry and Pippin, to crossing the Dead Marshes, to the battles at Helm’s Deep.

Each chapter represents an important event and introduces new characters, items, or challenges, so the sense of progression fits beautifully with the tension of the literary source.

The core of the game is trick‑taking, but with several interesting twists:

The game is cooperative: players work together to achieve their characters’ goals in each chapter. If even one character fails to meet their goal, the chapter is repeated. Players play cards with values from 1 to 8 in suits such as hills, forests, mountains, and shadows. The One Ring acts as the only trump card, with special rules for leading. The game also introduces new types of cards (e.g., white and black towers, orcs) that add tactical depth.

The game is designed for 1–4 players and includes special rules for solo and 2‑player modes, including managing additional “dummy” hands. This standalone game continues the 2025 release The Fellowship of the Ring: Trick‑Taking Game, covering chapters 19 to 36. The chapters can be played in any order, and prior knowledge of the earlier game is not required, although playing them in sequence is ideal. ✨ 🧙‍♂️
