The Vale of Eternity is a beautiful strategic card game that draws players into a world of mythological creatures, magical gems, and clever card combinations. In the game, you take on the role of a hunter of mythical creatures, which you can tame, sell, or summon. The creatures come from various mythologies and fantasy traditions, including the Japanese Kappa, the Greek Medusa, dragons, dryads, and many other fantastical beings. Each creature has its own abilities, which trigger either when it is summoned or during later phases of the game.
The game lasts 10 rounds, each consisting of three phases:
Hunt (Draft): Players select creature cards using a “snake” draft order.
Actions:
- Sell: Exchange a creature for magical gems based on its element.
- Tame: Keep a creature in your hand for a later summon.
- Summon: Pay the required gems and place the creature into your tableau.
- Banish: Pay a cost to remove a creature from the game.
Resolution: The abilities of summoned creatures are activated.
Magical gems come in values of 1, 3, and 6, and a player may hold a maximum of four gems at any time. If a creature costs 3 gems but you only have a gem worth 6, the difference is lost. Additionally, in each round you may have at most as many summoned creatures as the number of the current round (for example, up to five creatures in round five).
