Ticket to Ride Map Collection: Heart of Africa is an expansion for Ticket to Ride and Ticket to Ride Europe. It features a new map of Africa along with a new gameplay mechanic. In addition to collecting train cards, players can also collect terrain cards.
This expansion introduces 45 new terrain cards, divided into three different types, with each type associated with specific route colors:
- Desert/Savanna – for yellow, orange, and red routes
- Jungle/Forest – for green, blue, and purple routes
- Mountain/Cliff – for black, white, and grey routes
Players can draw terrain cards in the same way as train cards, and they can use them to double the value of the routes they claim, provided certain conditions are met.
