Ticket to Ride: New York is a fast, compact version of the popular Ticket to Ride series, taking players on a ride through the streets of Manhattan—this time not by train, but by taxi!
The game is set in 1960s New York, featuring a distinctive retro aesthetic. Players compete to connect famous city landmarks—such as the Empire State Building, Central Park, and Brooklyn—using taxis. It’s an urban twist on the classic railway theme, preserving the spirit of travel and route-building while focusing on a more local and modern setting.
Players collect colored transportation cards (taxis), which they then use to claim routes between locations. With the appropriate cards, you can occupy routes on the New York map. Grey routes can be claimed with any color. Each player has one or two destination tickets specifying which locations they must connect. If you succeed, you earn points—if not, you lose them. Additional points can be scored if your routes lead to city landmarks. When a player has only two taxis left, the final round begins. The player with the most points wins.
The game lasts only 10–15 minutes, making it ideal for short sessions or playing while waiting. The rules are simple, making it a great choice for beginners or families. 🚕
