The game does an excellent job of capturing the feel of classic fantasy RPG adventures. Heroes gradually uncover new rooms, encounter traps, discover legendary loot, improve their abilities, and prepare for a final showdown with the main villain. A constant sense of danger is created by the torchlight mechanic—if time runs out and the torch burns out, the heroes lose.
All players work together against the game itself, striving to conquer the dungeon. The room layout changes with every playthrough, increasing replayability and variety. Players move through the dungeon, explore new areas, battle enemies, and avoid deadly traps.
Combat and many hero abilities are based on the tactical use of different dice. The torch is constantly burning down, forcing players to plan their actions carefully and efficiently. Throughout the game, heroes become stronger by collecting loot, spells, and equipment sets that grow more powerful as additional pieces are gathered.
The game is divided into two phases—first, the heroes explore the dungeon and prepare for the ultimate challenge; then comes an epic battle against the Dungeon Boss, who possesses unique abilities and fights within a distinctive lair.
