Unmatched: Battle of Legends, Volume Three is the third and final installment in the popular series of tactical battles between legendary heroes. It’s a standalone game that can be combined with other Unmatched sets, allowing for an endless number of epic duels.
This edition features four completely different heroes from myths, legends, and folklore:
- Blackbeard – the infamous pirate who uses coins and a treasure chest to manipulate actions and card effects.
- Chupacabra – a beast from Latin American folklore, aggressive and easy to play.
- Loki – the Norse god of mischief, who confuses opponents by planting his “Trick” cards, creating tactical dilemmas.
- Pandora – a mysterious figure who opens her “box of misfortunes” through a push-your-luck mechanic, where risk brings either rewards or pain.
Unmatched is an asymmetrical miniature game, where each hero uses a unique deck of cards. Players move across the battlefield, attack, use special effects, and strategize with limited resources.
- Movement allows you to draw cards.
- Attacks are performed by secretly playing cards, which the opponent may block.
- Schemes are special cards with effects that don’t involve combat.
- The game can be played 1v1, 2v2, or in free-for-all mode.
A highlight of this set is two new battlefields: Venice and Santa’s Workshop, the latter featuring a conveyor belt that moves figures at the end of each turn – opening up new tactical possibilities.
