According to Egyptian beliefs, the dead could take their wealth with them into the next world, so throughout the game you collect statues, amulets, canopic jars, food, weapons, and other valuable treasures, storing them in your personal tomb.
The core mechanism is deck-building. During the game, players acquire new cards from a market arranged in the shape of a pyramid. One of the game's most distinctive features is the “collapsing pyramid”: as cards are purchased, cards from higher levels slide down, creating new purchasing opportunities.
The most original aspect of the game is that cards remaining in your deck are not worth points by themselves at the end of the game. Instead, you score primarily by “entombing” cards, permanently moving them from your deck into your tomb. This creates an engaging decision space where you must constantly balance using powerful cards for their effects against preserving them for end-game scoring.
