Vienna Connection is a tense, historically inspired cooperative espionage board game that takes players into Cold War Europe in 1977, where, as CIA agents, they uncover secrets, decode messages, and evade enemy operatives.
Players take on the role of agents investigating the murder of an American citizen in Vienna. In the background, connections between the KGB, local agents, police, and informants gradually come to light, while the story unfolds across real cities such as Vienna, Prague, and Berlin. The game is based on fiction intertwined with real historical events, giving it a strong sense of authenticity.
The game is cooperative, designed for 1–5 players who work together to solve missions. Messages are decrypted using code cards based on real Cold War-era methods. Every action increases the risk of being discovered by enemy agents. Interacting with local contacts and carrying out covert operations opens up new possibilities. Submitting the final report via the Antares online platform adds an extra layer of realism.
Vienna Connection feels like a spy movie you don’t just watch—you live it. 🕶️
