Wandering Galaxy is a science-fiction adventure game set in a distant galaxy, where players take on the roles of members of a diverse spaceship crew. As “spacers” — spacefaring adventurers — you embark on a planet-hopping campaign, completing dangerous missions, seeking fame and fortune, and trying to stay alive. Your ship is old, its AI system a bit senile, and the crew is full of eccentric characters from different species and with unique talents.
It is an app-supported game, where the story progresses based on the players’ choices. The app—or alternatively a location book—guides the game and provides voice narration. Players cooperatively manage the spaceship, each taking on a specific role (e.g., science, security, cargo). Every player selects a species and backstory, and can upgrade their character with equipment, allies, and skills. The game allows for open exploration and offers more than 70 different missions. It combines card management, worker placement, narrative decision-making, and a campaign system.
