Witchstone transports you into a fantasy world where powerful wizards and witches gather around a mystical stone once every hundred years to renew its power. Players take on the roles of members of magical guilds competing for the title of Witchstone Master. Throughout the game, you will build a network of magical energy, send witches on journeys, fulfill prophetic scrolls, and harness mysterious artifacts such as the pentagram, magic wand, and crystals. All of this unfolds on a beautifully illustrated game board depicting a crystal ball and other magical symbols.
Each player has a personal cauldron where they strategically place double‑sided hex tiles (domino‑style). Each tile shows two magical icons that determine the actions you can perform. If you place a tile next to matching icons, the strength of that action increases — the more connected icons, the more times you may perform the same action.
Varied actions include:
- Building the energy network: Connect towers on the central board to earn points.
- Moving witches: Send them across your network to claim locations.
- Pentagram and magic wand: Advance along special tracks for extra points and bonuses.
- Crystals and prophecies: Remove crystals from your cauldron to free up space and complete prophecy scrolls for additional points.
